Hello my dear travelers. We are now in the continent of Europe.
Now, let's start working on our next project to learn about Europe
and its countries: The travel brochure.

Due date: Monday, May 18
Presentation time per group: 5 minutes max.
Group division: 10 groups of 2, 1 group of 3. ( only one group of 3 members)
Total score: 15 points
Countries : Raffled in class ( last minute changes aren't going to be accepted)

Content of the brochure:

a) Include pictures of trips you've done to Europe if you have.
b) Speak about the culture ( mention the eight elements)
c) Use the five themes of geography, main physical features, climate, and vegetation.
d)You can search the web to add information, but you have to present it using your own words.

Remember!!!
e) Avoid reading the work while presenting.
f) we will do the work during computer and geography classes ( Geo, Friday 1, 8, 15).
g) Your group will get a grade in both assignments ( computer, and geography)
e) Every member of the group has to participate.

  • We're going to evaluate group work, creativity, voice, and the use of the 6+ 1 traits of writing.
Be creative!!! Make your audience want to travel to Europe. Challenge yourself! We know you can!

Literature April 27th- 30th

Work on the Science Fair Research Report.

Use the Science Fair Report Format I’ll give you on: MONDAY, April 27th.

Bring in information about your topic for Mon. April 27th – 30th,

in order to use your time wisely to write the report in your writing journal. If the group is efficient you will be able to complete the report in the classroom with my assistance.

LITERATURE EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT (OPTIONAL)

Depending on the quality of your essay, you will receive 5 extra points on your final 4th quarter grade.

Objective: Write an essay that will be submitted in a literary contest of the Dominican Ministry of Education.

Topic: “During this global economy turndown, what can a destination, which lives on tourism do to persuade more ships to come to their destination” 300-500 words.

Evaluation will be based on: Content, creativity, writing style, structure and grammar.
